Every year, our Auskickers and Juniors have the opportunity to experience Little League with Subiaco as ‘club of the week’. The weather couldn’t have been worse but we had an awesome time with Kevin Hill of the Subiaco Football Club prepping the kids and giving them the full WAFL experience. They were no longer Carine players, they were fully fledged SUBIACO players for the day and donned the maroon and gold just after arrival.
The WAFL Little League experience isn’t just about playing at half time, it’s the smell of the changerooms, it’s the warming up where the big boys (and girls) play, it’s meeting the trainers, forming a guard of honour and then running out onto the ground at half time to play in front of a crowd. OK, so the weather was ordinary and the crowd wasn’t great BUT these kids had the best time and left with smiles on their faces - we even recruited a few youngsters from the crowd to join us on the ground!
A very special thanks to all our parents and of course our Auskick Coordinator Mel Parkinson, Vice President Jayd Holmes and Merchandise Coordinator (and Bluey handler) Jan Cater. I also braved the weather to pop along and lend a hand. Enjoy the images below (click on each image for full size) and we can’t wait for next year!
