Carine Junior Football Club 2024 Indigenous Jumper Design
"Carine Pinjar Boodjar"
Carine Swamp Lands
The design process of Carine Junior Football Club’s 2024 Indigenous Jumper Design began last year as part of our club’s NAIDOC recognition and was driven by one of our families of a female player.
It outlines the connection that the Carine Junior Football Club has with its local environment as well as recognising our club’s history.
Our club is situated within the Carine Regional Open Space, where lakes and waterways have been of significance to local Aboriginal people and the current community and we see our club as a traditional meeting place as represented by the symbol featuring prominently on the front.
The lakes and waterways are represented in the two graphics wrapping around the body of the design and naturally reflect our historical club colours of navy and royal blue, combined previously with black.
The star symbols across the bottom section of the front panel represent the more than 40 years that our club has been in existence, with the red stars within that recognising the recent history of our fast growing female football program.
We feel that the footprints coming and going outline the journey that our young footballers take as they enter our club as children, many from Auskick, through to their graduation out of our program into other football or life experiences. Our current logo is featured at the top of the back of the jersey, along with traditional indigenous colours on each sleeve and the collar.
We are very pleased to have completed production for inaugural use by many of our teams during the NAIDOC rounds of 2024 and for many seasons to come. It was created by player, Jada Pedersen (Noongar & Njamal) in close collaboration with her mother, Naomi Garlett (Noongar & Yamatji) and with input from our club committee.
