Boys & Girls Club Trips
YEAR 10 YOUTH BOYS TRIP
The Year 10 trip originated about 30 years ago and has become a rite of passage for our Year 10 boys and parents. The trip is traditionally to Melbourne, and structured to include the opportunity to play a game against local side Greensborough as part of the Lew Hall Memorial Trophy, and plenty of AFL action. A typical itinerary for the trip includes:
a football game against Greensborough
attending a training sessions at Princess Park to watch Carlton go around. In recent years we have caught up with Simon White, an alumni Carine Junior Football Club player.
a tour of the MCG and National Sports Museum
go-karting
climbing
some free time to explore
an AFL game (or two)
an optional ski trip component
Unfortunately COVID meant that our 2020 Trip was limited to a local experience, and our 2021 Trip travelled to the Gold Coast as an alternative experience. The 2022 Trip Group were able to return to Melbourne, albeit a very brief weekend away. Boys and their parents are busy fundraising for a 2023 return to the original trip format. The most visible component of this is seen in our canteen, with the BBQ at Auskick on Sunday morning and at Beach Road all day Sunday. The boys and their parents are rostered on to serve you, and also conduct regular raffles at the grounds, Bunnings BBQs and a meat raffle at The Carine on Fridays.
In 2024, the boys decided not to include the snow component and spent more time in Melbourne. The trip was very successful. Please CLICK HERE to read more about it.
Here’s a few images from past trips, to provide you with an idea of the experience.
YOUTH GIRLS PRESEASON TOURS
Following our enormously successful preseason tours in 2021 and 2023, the Carine Junior Football Club is pleased to open expressions of interest for the 2024 Youth Girls Preseason Tour.
The tour is open to new and existing girls from Year 7 through 12 who are registered with the Club for the 2024 season. It is intended that the tour will take place in the Dunsborough/Busselton region of Western Australia from Friday 22 March - Sunday 24 March, 2024.
After the success of our tours in 2021 and 2023, we are expecting increased demand for places. At this stage, the Club is seeking expressions of interest only, with no guarantee that all interested players will be able to attend. Once expressions of interest are collected, the Club will determine next steps, mindful of ensuring a fair and equitable result for our female players if required.
Plans are being finalised, but at this stage, the tour is expected to cost in the range of $225 - $250 and will include:
a game/s of football against local teams;
accommodation;
all transport;
breakfast Saturday and Sunday, lunch Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday evening;
an outdoor adventure-based Saturday afternoon activity;
souvenir trip photo or similar memorabilia; and
other fees and consumables as part of the football program.
Final tour costs will be calculated closer to the date once group numbers are confirmed and fundraising activities have taken place.

General information
For our player trips to be a success, active fundraising is required by players and parents. Fundraising elements can be either actual amounts raised by individuals or prorated on an hourly basis. Both trips are guided by a subcommittee and have the structures of coordinator, secretary, treasurer, etc and report to the Carine Junior Football Club Management Committee. You can see our subcommittee and fundraising guidelines on our Policies page.
The 2024 Trip Group Coordinator (boys) is TBC. The Youth Girls Preseason Tour is coordinated by Paul Valentino, Girls Football Coordinator, girls@carinefooty.com.au.
