At our recent Annual General Meeting, consideration of special resolutions resulted in two LIfe Memberships being awarded.
DAMON LONNIE served as President of the Carine Junior Football Club for four years, longer than any other in the Club's history. Damon saw the Club through the transition to the new Clubrooms, the introduction and growth of girls football, and the attainment of Gold Club status, in recognition of excellence in football club administration. The Club continued to grow and prosper throughout Damon's time as President, and we were a finalist in three categories of the 2018 Clubs WA awards, and winner of the Most Improved Club. Damon has continued on the committee following his presidency, most recently as Sponsorship Coordinator and is now turning his hand to attraction and retention of girls in football. Damon, you are a very worthy recipient of Life Membership.
BRETT WILLS has been involved in coaching since Auskick and has played a significant role within our Club. His 2020 premiership-winning Year 10 Cats have appeared in grand finals four years straight, and Brett has developed a significant bond with these young men, supporting their emotional and physical development and doing so much behind the scenes to ensure they all had the opportunity to play our great game. It's not just about the boys though, with Brett's daughter also having played in the 2018 Year 9/10/11 team and Brett playing the role of runner/assistant coach. Well done Brett, your contribution to our Club has been significant.
Congratulations to Damon and Brett; we look forward to presenting you with your Life Membership pins at a suitable event in season 2021.
