Sunday 2 April 2017 saw the Committee down at Monyash Reserve bright and early to prepare for Allocation Day.  It's the day our five year olds (and newest members of the Club) right through to our Year 12s find out their team, meet their coach and start getting serious about the start of the season.

We were getting serious ourselves, well before the 9.00am arrival of the Auskickers, getting the bouncy castle inflated, BBQ on, merchandise displayed and coloured balloons arranged to show each Auskick year group where to go.

At 9.00am, following a brief address to coaches and managers by Vice-president Alan Thomas and Auskick Coordinator Belinda Greenhalgh, it was 'all guns blazing'.  Auskick teams met, parents were briefed (and perhaps convinced to take on roles) and then everyone had some fun.  It was fantastic to see plenty of kick to kick action on the oval. while new Carine Junior Football Club game day socks were ordered and plenty of coffee was consumed.

At 11.00am it was time for the older players.  Through social media we had let people know that the people from GOB Smacked Mouthguards we on site from 9.00 - 11.30am so plenty of players came a little earlier to ensure they had their mouthguard fitted for the coming season.  Vice-president Alan Thomas addressed parents and players and proudly presented our earlybird registration prize to Jazmine Farnan, Year 4 Cougars.  Jazzy walked away with an iPad mini and was very excited (as was Dad).

Sausages were consumed, Club caps, hoodies and polos were purchased and parents and players alike enjoyed renewing friendships and talking about the season ahead.  Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see a little video of all the highlights of the day.

Thank you to the Committee for the hard work undertaken to make sure the morning was a success.  Bring on the start of the footy season.
